Exploring Hiroshima
Hiroshima, the city where an atomic bomb was dropped in 1945, is certainly worth visiting when exploring Japan. The city is rich in history and documents the dire consequences and devastation caused by nuclear weapons. It now stands as a powerful symbol of peace and anti-nuclear advocacy. It’s the most powerful and moving city I’ve ever visited.
Hiroshima Castle
A beautiful reconstructed castle featuring 1590s traditional Japanese architectural design and a history museum inside. There’s an observation deck on top of the castle where you can view the city.

Peace Park
A serene memorial park dedicated to the victims of the atomic bombing, featuring monuments and yearly ceremonies.

Atomic Dome
The preserved ruins of the former Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall, a powerful symbol of peace and nuclear disarmament. This was the only building from 1945 atomic bomb that survived the explosion in Hiroshima.

Observation tower Deck
This gives you a great bird’s-eye view of the city its behined the Atomic Dome building.

Hiroshima Peace Museum
An impactful museum documenting the atomic bombing through artifacts, photographs, and survivor testimonies. The phogrpahs are very graphic and a very emotional experience a very powerful museum.
Miyajima Island
A scenic island famous for its shrines, temples, and wild deer roaming freely.

Miyajima Torii Gate
An iconic floating gate that serves as the entrance to the sacred Itsukushima Shrine. Tsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located on Miyajima Island in Japan

Miyajima Ropeway
A scenic cable car ride offering breathtaking views of the island and Seto Inland Sea. There’s various hiking routes you can take once you’ve ridden the ropeway.
